10 Marketing Tricks and a Treat

10 Tricks to get more out of your Marketing this Halloween

1. Choose A/B Testing Campaign when creating a new email in Mailchimp to test 2 subject lines. The test goes out to a percentage of the database and then the winning subject line the most email opens goes out to the rest of the mailing list.

2. Create and save an audience in Facebook Ads Manager before you boost a post. You can then target your audience in more detail with the saved audience than you can using the boost feature on its own.

3. Use the auto-schedule feature in Hootsuite to schedule your social media posts at a time where you are most likely to get interaction.

4. If you are sharing your Instagram posts to Facebook put your #hashtags in the comments so it doesn’t look spammy on Facebook

5. Follow any user’s Twitter friends using Tweepi.com if you’ve found an interesting tweeter and you’d like to follow the people they are following this is the tool to use.

6. Low email open rates? Resend your email campaigns to the people who didn’t open it with a new subject line a few days after the original one.

7. Use Twitter Analytics to find your most popular tweets, interactions and audience insights – not just in age, gender, interests and location but also buying behaviour!

8. Before sending a Mailchimp email go to ‘Preview and Test’ and select ‘Social Cards’ to set up the image and description to display when you share the link to your email on social media.

9. If your website links don’t display the right image or caption when you share on Facebook try the Facebook open graph debugger tool to scrape the right image you’re your website https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

10. Claim your Google My Business page. Google your business name on a laptop or computer– does it come up in the open graph on the right hand side of the search results? If this business is available there will be a link ‘own this business’ where you can then create a Google + page for the business.
