York Pop Up Business Cafe

I'm delighted to be returning as one of the experts at the How's Business Pop Up Business Cafe. I'll be joining 6 other local business experts at The Natural Entrepreneurs Workspace in York on Wednesday 25th April and we'll be on hand to answer questions about Websites, Marketing, Social Media, Raising Finance, Tax & Accountancy, and Business Start-up and Growth.

Have you ever wished that you had all the answers to your business questions in one place?

Well that's what a Pop Up Business Cafe is. How's Business are bringing their pop up magic to York with a room full of trusted experts waiting to give practical answers to your questions on a range of business topics. Totally informal, friendly and free, you can come and go as you please - it's a cafe, not a conference.

And did I mention it's FREE!

That’s right, this event is completely free to attend, you are welcome to turn up when you like, leave when you like and even come back again if you feel like it. The Pop Up Café will be open from 9am until 1pm with informal drop in sessions throughout the morning.

All we ask is that you book your free ticket on Eventbrite so that we know you are coming (and have enough biscuits!)

I’ll be available to answer any questions on all aspects of marketing, especially marketing strategy, so if you need help with your social media strategy, customer website journeys, SEO, email marketing strategy then come along and have a chat. I'm a big believer that no question is a silly question and I'll have a laptop with my if you need a bit of techy 'how to' support with marketing tools, just remember that sessions are limited to 20 minutes.

This is the second time I've been invited to be the resident Marketing Expert for the Pop Up Business Cafe. Last year I joined the expert team at the Pocklington Pop Up, which was a fantastic experience. I just love answering questions about marketing and helping people get the support they need to start or grow their business. It's one of the reasons that I run Marketing Surgeries - to be able to offer strategic and technical marketing support to small business owners in an accessible format at an affordable price point.

But even more importantly I understand how hard it can be to get the right advice when you are just starting out or that you don't want to 'bother' someone one with your seemingly small or silly questions. Before I was invited to become an expert, I was actually an attendee at the Beverly Pop Up, where I was really grateful for the opportunity to ask my burning tax and accounting questions in a friendly welcoming environment. It can be overwhelming to approach a professional accountant or tax advisor or marketing specialist with what you think is a small or silly question, but actually that question could have a massive impact on your business, and that's why these pop up cafes are such a great opportunity for business owners.

  1. This is a fantastic resource! I think cost can be a barrier to some of the questions being asked…people often assume they won’t be able to afford the professional advice, so they don’t ask.
